HI! I'm Aimee

In today’s episode of Transmit Safety, Aimee is chatting with Brandy (Bossle) Zadoorian, CSP, ASP, CSD about Health & Safety in the manufacturing sector, volunteerism, certifications, and much more.

In this episode, I have the opportunity to talk to Brandy, a fellow certified safety professional who loves being part of the Health & Safety community and is constantly looking for ways to connect and give back.

Brandy runs her own consulting business, Triangle Safety Consulting, specialized in helping manufacturing facilities based out of South Carolina, US and volunteers in a few different ways creating content that helps others get certified and improve the Health & Safety of their workplaces.

Today, she’s sharing with us a little bit of what Health & Safety look like in the manufacturing sector and some valuable tips about content creation, managing your workload, getting certified, and much more.

[By the way, it really is me interviewing Brandy, I was a little sick at the time and my voice shows it. However, I am okay now and you can expect things to go back to normal in future episodes]

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The history behind Brandy’s Triangle Safety Consulting business
  • The challenges for the Health & Safety professional in manufacturing
  • How corporate Health & Safety standards work at multinationals with manufacturing facilities around the world
  • Getting ISO 45001 certification and the importance of buy-in
  • The many ways Brandy volunteers within the Health & Safety community
  • Tips to start creating and writing your own content
  • The importance of having an online presence and where to be
  • Beating imposter syndrome as a safety professional

The Transmit Safety Podcast is here to help health and safety practitioners achieve a holistic approach to workplace health and safety so they can become impactful leaders and put the value of safety into action.

Quotes from this episode

“I think safety professionals sometimes just need to swallow their pride a little bit of, you know,  “oh, I can get this done all by myself” and just ask for help, because all the company can do is say no.”

“If you’re looking for the next step of improving your company safety program, you should definitely look into obtaining ISO 45,001. But with that being said, it is a lot of work to maintain.”

“My goal was to try to teach people the basics, because sometimes these small businesses, they literally just don’t know anything. And I want to try to get them into compliance.”

“Write what you want to talk about and get it out there because chances are, you have experience and knowledge that others may not have. And it’s likely to be valuable to others to hear from your experiences or maybe best practices that you’ve put into place.”
