HI! I'm Aimee

There’s something magical about cracking open a new book (or pressing play on an audiobook) and letting your brain wander into fresh ideas, challenging perspectives, and thoughtful reflection.

But let’s be honest—some of the best parts of reading don’t happen on the page. They happen in the conversations afterward. The ones where someone brings up a point you didn’t notice or challenges the way you interpreted a line.

That’s where the book club comes in. And not just any book club.

This one is for professionals—like you—who want to level up their leadership, sharpen their communication, and keep growing. Whether you’re in safety, operations, HR, or just really into self-development, you’ll find insight, connection, and maybe even a new favourite read.

So, why join?

  • Accountability that doesn’t suck: You’ll actually want to finish the book (and if you don’t, come anyway—we don’t gatekeep good conversation).
  • Curated reads: Every title is chosen with intention—no fluff, no filler.
  • Conversation > lecture: We don’t analyze plot points; we ask how it applies to real life, real work, and real leadership.
  • Community vibes: Whether you’re on your second designation or just figuring out what “professional development” even means, this is a welcoming space to think out loud and learn together.

Fall 2025 Lineup

Here’s what we’re reading for the rest of the year and why it made the cut:

📖 July – Fluke: Chance, Chaos, and Why Everything We Do Matters by Brian Klaas
We’re kicking things off with a deep dive into chaos theory and the butterfly effects behind everyday decisions. Fluke blends storytelling with science to show how unpredictable forces shape our lives—and why embracing that randomness can help us lead and live with more intentionality.

August – The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters by Priya Parker
Whether you’re hosting a meeting, workshop, or dinner party, how you bring people together matters. Parker offers a fresh perspective on the purpose and power of gatherings—perfect for leaders who want to create more intentional, impactful spaces.

September – Bullshit Jobs: A Theory by David Graeber
This one takes a bold (and occasionally spicy) look at work that feels pointless—and how we ended up creating entire sectors around it. It’s a provocative read that gets us thinking about meaning, motivation, and modern work culture.

October – Radical Candor by Kim Scott
Because giving honest feedback without being a jerk is a leadership superpower. This is a crowd favourite for a reason—tons of takeaways and real-world examples.

November – The Tyranny of Metrics by Jerry Z. Muller
We measure everything—but are we measuring the right things? This book critiques the data-obsessed mindset and helps us refocus on what really matters at work.

December – Secret Santa Book Exchange
No assigned reading—just gifting! Each member sends and receives a mystery book with a short note about why they picked it. It’s a lovely way to wrap up the year with a bit of joy (and a new addition to your to-read pile).

How it works:
Monthly virtual meetups
Book discussion guides

Hosted on the Transmit Safety Router Network with coffee vibes and accountability brewed in.
